Frankly, we were told not to until the entrance exam was concluded. At that time we were not decided whether or not to proceed. And telling a bunch of people that they’re responsible for the life or death of others is nothing to toss around without conviction. If the program was stopped before it even began, those people didn’t deserve to live with that lingering knowledge.

And yet what cannot be ignored is the effect it’s had on people. My brother is in a coma and countless people have died. That is the unshakeable truth that I wish were anything but. So as ridiculous as it all sounds, as little as I want to believe the reality I live in is so fragile— I am compelled to seek a solution. For my brother and for those who’ve yet preserved their lives.
